Weekly Brief
Normal training routines and transits were reported during the week. Submarine crew training continues to take place with an emphasis on damage control and escape procedures.

Daily Events

January 31
All vessels that took part in the large naval exercise halfway week 04 were reported back in the naval base of Sevastopol [1]. This is confirmed by commercial satellite imagery [2].

February 01
Flight deck operations were held on board of the logistic support vessel Vsevolod Bobrov with a Ka-27PS helicopter performing landings on the flight deck [3].

Buyan-M class corvette Vishny Volochek returned from a Mediterranean deployment. The vessel moved through the Bosporus during the morning [4].

February 02
Submarine crews underwent training at the Afalina and Gefest training complexes of the naval base at Novorossiysk. The training involved damage control against flooding, evacuation of wounded personnel and practicing the escape from a submarine through a torpedo tube. Afalina training complex is used for rescue and diving training while Gefest is designed for damage control exercises [5].

February 03
Natya class minehunter Vitse-Admiral Zakharyin departed the Mediterranean and was observed passing through the Bosporus [6].

February 06
The Black Sea Fleet held an exercise that involved safe navigation. Stationary and mobile radar stations were deployed to guide naval vessels and assist them in their navigation [7].

Patrol vessel Vasily Bykov completed the K2 crew training course at the naval base of Novorossiysk. The crew conducted naval gunfire and air defense exercise against naval and air targets simulating hostile targets [8].

A Ropucha class landing vessel was spotted on satellite imagery as it left the training range at Opuk on the Crimea. The vessel was spotted at 08:47 UTC [9].
